Calling them “wrappers” is like calling the iOS operating system “just wrappers” and wondering why apps built on it are worth millions. ChatGPT and large language models function more like platforms or even operating systems in their own right.

The question is are the so called wrappers creating value? I know wrappers making over a million dollars in monthly revenue.

I mean a good chunk of it is hype, extreme examples being Theranos, FTX, most recently $SMCI. The same thing happened before with crypto, before that we had productivity apps, before that Uber/AirBnB, before that cloud sync/notes/drive etc. :P

How do you define wrapper? I'm finding tools like Cursor and Granola to be incredibly useful and not surprised they're getting good valuations. But if you mean like all the knock off ChatGPT apps in the app store then yeah I'm with you.
