Yes, in big tech being hands-on is not the case, but even in today's market, work in big tech is not as safe as before. Maybe some people are still safe, but it's random. So my mindset is no matter where I work, freelance or full hours, I work as a freelancer technically

Reading such blogs feels alienating. At least in the industry I have observed, the need for a design leader being hands-on has always been the case.

Unless you were in a big tech, where even now you can be a UX leader.

I like it how more articles/blogs/newsletter who write honesty about this tough market situation no matter how hard it is to realise it
