Thank you for your perspective on this. I guess it’s like with everything else that is “trendy”. Be it a color, a design approach, illustration style, etc. people will take those shortcuts, sometimes without thinking why. And the sameness is also something that saddens me.

I think part of the people are just saturated of this trend becaus it's everywhere, but honestly, it hurts only to look at it. There is so much information, so much "pop-up", and the way of reading it feels so awkward and overwhelming, as if I was looking at a old newspaper.

Yes, @@paddelmentioned they are great for summaries (which is what Apple designed them for!) But I think, as a trend, they are used as a shortcut for everything else rather than actually figuring out IA.

@stasmoor IDK if you want site feedback but IMO your site falls into that category - each cell is individually *super aesthetic* but the broad composition completely relies on the bento for cohesion! Wayfinding / direction is lost, and could be wonderful given what you’ve got.

(Still a lovely site, minor note since we’re on the subject. You’ve seared the perfect steak, and served it in tupperware! Steak is still good but you’ve missed an opportunity for presentation)

Thank you for your honest feedback, I respect it. 🤝 What is important, are the goals that went into it, i.e. I actually want the steak to be in a Tupperware, as this way it’s easier to take home. 😄 Furthermore, I fully understand that it won’t be to everyone’s taste.
