Repetition. And also try to be more conscious of what you are doing. Yes, you can take a quick snap, but what if you changed something? Anything? Did that make the picture more interesting?

As a self-declared amateur, try looking at other people's photography and picking out what makes the photo so good. Also, take lots of pictures, even of things around your house, and see what feels off about them, and try correcting that. I've found it's a lot of practice

Also, how would you go about learning how to take pictures? I am the worst photographer ever.

Agree with everyone here mentioning practice. It is the best teacher. I remember committing to a challenge to take deliberate photos for a month. Meaning to observe the surroundings to find things you find interesting, beautiful etc and take a pic

I think a good way is to start with a camera that’s fun to shoot with - nothing too serious. Got a Fujifilm XT50 camera and the film recipes help have fun while learning.

Well yeah. it's stuff you see every day. It's being able to take that boring stuff, and look at it through a different lens (pun absolutely intended) that makes it more interesting and fun. And since it's your own home, you get effectively infinite tries at it!

Recipes are specific to Fuji cameras. Think of them as filters/edits that can be configured directly on the camera. That way you can take ready-to-use images straight out of camera.

What are the film recipes? I have a Sony ZV-1F that I want to learn how to use

And you don’t need any special gear. Just a smartphone camera is sufficient enough these days

I don't know why I am so reluctant about taking picture in my house. I feel it is all so boring.

Can confirm, pretty much all of the photos I take are on my phone, and some of them even turn out good!

For sure. I'd take it as a challenge. In fact. we are only three days in October. Bet I can take a picture a day for the rest of the month
