That seems like the opposite of innovation and actually everything that’s wrong on the tech industry atm — putting engineering on a pedestal and assuming everything else should follow 🤷♀️
Hey Laura, I get where you’re coming from! My point was more about how innovation can sometimes mean testing ideas fast with code first and, if they will work, then refining them with design. I don't want to waste time on something that technically won't work
I’m sorry, I see where you are coming from, too! It didn’t feel that clear in the original post and now that you’ve explained it to me, I understand what you meant. I agree that we sometimes develop a concept by focusing on how it looks, and that’s not necessarily the best way.
those four things are parallel, not sequential. generate ideas by making things through design & code simultaneously. they are joined at the hip and inform each other. marketing isn't something you slap on at the end, but that you should develop/refine/learn from as you build
These steps do overlap and feed into each other. My post was more about showing how priorities can shift depending on the context, but I’m all for that integrated, iterative approach too. Honestly, I see it as an infinite loop rather than a strict process.
