Hey all, I wanted to share a very bittersweet update here before we shared it anywhere else. First, the hard part — we’ve made the difficult decision to wind down Read.cv and Posts starting this month.

HUGE props to building something that has such a wonderful community around it. Perplexity is lucky to have you and I'm excited to see all the great contributions the whole team makes.

Turns out I'm wrong and it's really ending. The Read.cv team is joining Perplexity but the community is at a crossroads. We should build a new one or join somewhere that looks promising and suits our vibe. Threads/X/Mastodon/Bluesky? Onwards from here.

Reflecting on the last 4 years, it has been an incredible privilege to take a swing at building this product and community, and I want to sincerely thank you all for your support.

Look, I'm absolutely jazzed for @andy and the team as humans, but if you read https://read.cv/about/supporters, then it's definitely a bit of a rug pull. Up until today, they were building for "years to come"!

i have heavily curated my Bluesky following/feeds into a bunch of webdev/design/startup folks and it's been great. lots of people building stuff, sharing work, ideas, etc. (I also muted a bunch of news-related keywords that I dont care to see 24/7, which keeps my feed clean)

thanks for what you built, Andy. i met several amazing people in real life thanks to posts, found great freelance gigs thanks to my readcv profile and generally always felt like it's a warm cozy place.

Yup, that’s the reason why I decided to support since support was thing. I believed in the project, and I think I just paid another year a just a few months ago.

I know, support was optional and it’s probably part of the terms, but still…

To be transparent, the reason for this decision is anticlimatic — ultimately the challenges of sustaining a small business were more than we could overcome.

If you do end up building something i’d be more then happy to help with the backend and infrastructure :)
