Idk. I’ve never been one to care about titles. The higher you go, the less designing you do and the more meetings and management you do. There are trade-offs. If it’s a significant bump do it. If you want a higher IC/management role ask what the possibilities are in growth

I've been down-leveled and I don't recommend it lol I think it's more common for big tech companies, like FAANG

I’ve switched jobs to roles with lower levels, lower pay, and switches from leadership to IC roles (not all at once). I haven’t regretted any of those changes. I’m not saying that will be the case for every time, but if you think about what you want they can be positive changes.
