After too many "unlucky" falls (and some other big life changes I'm not mentioning) I'm coming to sad realization I need to hit pause on this activity I really love. At least at the level I was doing it before (racing with local Berkeley team) Any other similar experiences?

Yes! That’s Taekwondo for me — not due to an injury but pregnancy / postpartum (even though I trained until the 38th week!) and other life things. Went from training 4-5 times a week to once a week, where I can.

I wish I had a good answer for how to magically fill your life with something as rewarding, but it will be different for everyone. Maybe it's a good opportunity to spend more time with family, friends, or learning a new skill.

Oh man I totally feel ya dude! For me this last injury also coincided with my first kid, which makes the tension between the “fun” of the activity and the “disappointment” of the injury even harder. We’ll figure out something and it’s worth remembering the best healer is time :)

Currently in the process of a build. Only mountain biking I'm getting rn is jumping stair sets while on my way to work

That's really tough. I'm a big runner and have been dealing with a similar realization. First I had a kid, then I had an injury, and now another kid on the way. I'm grateful for the years I spent my weekends on the trails, but it can't be a priority for me right now.
