Been really pushing myself to read more the past couple years. Starting 2024 off with The Road by Cormac McCarthy (finished already), and A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole. What are some books y'all are reading / would recommend for 2025?
Read 14 books last year and aiming for 20 this year! Recommending pretty much all of it, lol goodreads.com/user/show/1787…
Nice! Great job! We read some of the same books (Station Eleven, Annihilation).
OMG I love everything St. John Mandel writes, she’s amazing. I read sea of tranquility when it came out and ahhhhh
Sea of Tranquility was excellent. I personally liked that one better than Station Eleven, but both were great. Hoping for more from her.
Yeah I loved all the little “Easter Eggs” in sea of tranquility that reference characters from her past novels. It was a really beautiful novel! There’s been mixed reviews about it but have you read “To Paradise” by Hanya Yanagihara? The third part reminded me a lot of SoT..
Yay! You can do it 💪🏼 I managed 48 books last year! I mean most of them were not super long (To Paradise is *long*, read that in 2023 or 2022..) but still very satisfying 🤍
