ahaha, I have this problem too...when I was shipping GitHub Sponsors some of the mockups had something like people getting 7k sponsorships for the first month. The program hadn't even been out long enough for that to happen like what.
One of my Big Tech pet peeves has always been when people use huge numbers in mocks . Like “you’re approved for a 1.7M home loan”. STFU! Who is this for lol
I sometimes forgive aspirational numbers about the product itself (# subscribers, earnings) but when the numbers assume the person’s entire lifestyle unrelated to the product I feel like it’s a sign the designers need therapy (I say this as a designer who needs therapy) 😅
Yes it definitely depends! Sometimes when funding-based models are so high it ends up being more unattainable than aspirational or like maybe this product / service isnt tailored to people like me so I’m always scanning. I hope it doesnt happen frequently but good for a laugh!
If anything we're usually accounting for the craziest number possible to make sure there's enough space Lol
lol yes that I get I’m more talking about status symbols for the sake of status symbols. Like why are we mocking up a delivery for a $13.59 terrarium to a 12 bedroom mansion in Calabasas or Bel Air 😂
Okay this cracked me up😂 Wer'e usually just accounting for large numbers in the design but this had me😂
