now i am sitting with an industrial design team, sometimes it makes me appreciate more the malleability of software and the immense freedom of constructing a whole world just with your computer, sometimes it also makes me feel sad about how elusive bits are.

no doubt ai pin has packed a lot of cool tech in it, but how they unveil it (& their brand in general) gives me this black mirror vibe that’s a bit uncanny

haven’t used windows for like 7 years, tried windows 11 today and it’s actually...not bad! even in windows 10 the tiles in system menu (the one when you click windows icon not sure what its called) have that linear-style-hover-spotlight-spillover-effect

idea: make a wristband with neopixels to visualize timer progress, could be handy in cooking especially when integrated with voice assistant

Rarely are designs “intentionally bad”, but some systems do afford better design than others. The systems here can be as small as style primitives or as large as organization and incentive structures. It’d be interesting to find out how to design systems that afford good design.

A question I’ve always been wondering:

If I only show one case study in a portfolio presentation, should I present a work project that talks more about how I approached work, or a personal/class project that represents my skills more accurately?
