Been spending too much time thinking about social networks and why spaces like this one are always short lived. It's such an interesting problem because traction can kill the space if there's not an underlying business model underneath the network.
I'm unconvinced that Bluesky is a suitable replacement. I've been there for awhile and, simply put, I don't want Posts style content next to the chaos of the the world. It disincentivizes me to post because it's so easy to look like you've failed to read the global room.
I have tons of respect and admiration for those working on a replacement for Posts. Even started working on one myself but I haven't figured out a real answer to the longevity problem, and to introduce another place that goes away is just not fair to the community.
