classic answer: imo it depends. LI has been great in the past for me when it comes to job hunting and allowing myself to be found by talent acquisition, but i have no use for it otherwise. my account is in hibernation but i’ll prob turn it on again if i am looking for work.
Hey all! 👋🏻 A little poll for us: As a CS major, I'm surrounded by walking LinkedIn ads. With the lovely CV and Posts community 🤍 I can't help but wonder: how important is it to have LinkedIn as a dev/designer/<adjacent creative field>? Do you have & use one? Why or why not?
I really cannot stand Linkedin. Anyways, being early career, it's been stressed to me that having Linkedin is important for: a) networking b) acting as a digital resume I'm sure there are other pros to having one.
The two best perks of being employed are the paychecks, and not having to give a fuck about LinkedIn. Unfortunately it’s the 300 pound gorilla when it comes to job search
as someone who's avoided it for as long as i could, it's useful for job hunting and as a networking tool 🫠 tho i'd be curious to know how recruiters and hiring managers actually use it.
