Love the minimalist approach to be honest. I see quite a lot of portfolios when we're hiring and to be honest, if you already have a Behance and Dribble filled with projects, I'd rather see more about yourself, the way you think and your personality on the personal website.
Since being my own client is a pain in the ass and it looks like it's going to take a while to finally publish my dream website, I decided to create a quick and simple version in the meantime. Really feeling the whole “baby steps” mindset. facundo.design/
But yeah, I think as a designers we always want to build and expand our portfolios, even what we have it "good enough" for the most part. I guess you cannot escape the creativity and scratching your own itch when it comes to personal projects like a website.
Thanks for the feedback! The minimalist style might go out the window when I finally get to upload the final version of the full website hahah as you said, I want do something that expresses my personality better.
I like this. I took the same approach. I used to have everything on my own website–case studies, blog, etc. But the complexity of updating it, meant that I wasn't updating it at all. So I decided to delegate the bulk of it to other platforms that are much easier to update.
