+1. Mine is just html and css, because I don’t really want to rely on a company/platform for something this “personal”. But then again I always loved building random shit on my website since like 2000 when I had to ftp files to my server sooo that’s just me 🙈

I ditched Squarespace at the beginning of this year for exactly those reasons. My site’s not great, but I built it myself and know why it works.

Yeah those are some really good points. We actually use squarespace for our company website at work (lol) and the amount of time I spent figuring out the ins and outs of squarespace I could have just built the whole thing from scratch and tbh much better 🙃
