A thought that's been on my mind for years now — we are increasingly losing the soul in our design work. There are so many “rules” that guide us, but ultimately make us create the same stuff over and over again. I believe we can and should challenge these rules. They are made-up.

The problem though, at least from my pov, is that the standardisation of components is generally a good thing for users. So on one hand I'm like "yeah let's create something totally unique!!" and on the other I'm like "Hmm this will require too much cognitive load".

Definitely true factors. And that's when it's our job to balance it out. Evaluating when to go far and when to deliver what's needed. But even then, we can always push it. It's not an easy process.

Right and that what's makes the job exciting as well. Looking forward to see you continue to push the envelope!

You are on point! Without it, the job becomes dull and burn out will wait around the corner. Something I slowly drifted towards over the years, until it hit me. Thank you for the encouragement. It will definitely be a journey.
