The problem though, at least from my pov, is that the standardisation of components is generally a good thing for users. So on one hand I'm like "yeah let's create something totally unique!!" and on the other I'm like "Hmm this will require too much cognitive load".

Not to mention the fact that those who pay us are generally in favor of the status quo.

Definitely true factors. And that's when it's our job to balance it out. Evaluating when to go far and when to deliver what's needed. But even then, we can always push it. It's not an easy process.

Right and that what's makes the job exciting as well. Looking forward to see you continue to push the envelope!

You are on point! Without it, the job becomes dull and burn out will wait around the corner. Something I slowly drifted towards over the years, until it hit me. Thank you for the encouragement. It will definitely be a journey.

I know the feeling. What has helped me a bit, is to switch up where to look for inspiration. In a sense, also the way how to look for it and what to look for. Basically, removing the perception of what is considered “right”.

Yes, 100%. This is precisely what is ultimately the answer to: "Will AI replace us?"
