The lack of actual leadership in our industry
That's definitely a problem.. I've had different types of managers, including people who should've stayed ICs because they lack managerial skills. It ends up doing much more harm than good
That and being promoted to manager because of tenure and not skills has been normalized.. And usually people in director/head positions are not at a company themselves long enough to see the consequences of their decisions
Every non-designer being an expert in design. Not enough time and resources to do the craft.
That the big design conferences are built for big company learning budgets and inaccessible to the majority.
I don’t like the constant change in tools, processes, expectations, requirements, etc. It makes it exciting, but also tiring, especially considering that I still have to work several decades 😅
Everyone wins when the content and outcome of design work gets to be the most important thing, instead of the appearance of doing design thinking, or product management, or design systems, or dual track agile, or…
