My .com is for pointing DNS all over, so I bought .design years ago to build my website and just point .com to it, I just renewed .design but it's just a static site deployed on Vercel, but it's time for something more visual I just don't want to invest a ton of time
Considering moving my personal site over here because I just want something simple and not as bio-focused and more detailed about stuff I've been up to, but I'm not certain my work these days lends itself to a visual profile. Hmm
I feel you on time. That being said... developing my new site using Cursor has made my new site come together freakishly faster than I'd have thought. Case studies are still a pain in the neck, though.
Personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable running a website I can't easily move between hosting providers. That's why I'm re-building mine using Kirby CMS, I'm liking it a lot!
I have a static personal stie deployed to vercel, i've been doing that for years because I don't need my site for job stuff. But it's been a good year of action-oriented stuff and I think it's time to rebrand with something more visual than I'm interested in building.
I redirect my dot com to my dot design so I can move whatever site I want to wherever I'm hosting at the time, it's been a good way to make the site portable over the years. I've been in leadership too long to have a portfolio sadly, but I've got stories to tell.
