Omg A Short Hike was so good. Also seconding Toem!! Wide Ocean Big Jacket was great and Eastward gives me such a warm feeling, reminds me of playing games as a kid.

Citizen Sleeper! Sort of a Disco Elysium-esque RPG set on a space station. The most beautifully written game I played last year. Wonderful score too!

Not indie but playing Tactics Ogre right now (on Steam Deck, but it’s on Switch). It’s a classic, industry-defining tactics RPG remastered from the SNES era. Before that, I played Chained Echoes, an indie love letter to SNES RPGs like Chrono Trigger made mostly by 1 person

I recently was playing Cult of the Lamb - core game loop really pulls you in! Mix of base building / resource management and rogue lite gameplay.

Hollow Knight is so good!

Firewatch is one I always recommend. Beautiful storytelling and amazing art style. 10/10, would definitely recommend!

I think it’s just ‘small studio’ rather than indie, but I’ve just rediscovered Abzu, one of the most beautiful games. A real work of art
