Man, the 3B is great, but the 5th is just so clean that no one could ignore it! Are you working for Pentagram or something?
Help! I need some feedback on a brand concept for my content design studio. I'm currently using 1A/B but I'd like to introduce some color and maybe a little playfulness (B Co. is short for Bertino Consulting). Which direction do you like most/least? Things you'd change?
Haha I’m picking up a little sarcasm but I appreciate the feedback. Do you think creating more balance on 5 would help?
They are losing your potential fr. But what do you mean by balance? If it's about the "kerning", I think it's already good, but also I'm not a maniac for typography haha Oh, and maybe having a contrast between the colors from B and C could be great too!
Like this? Someone else mentioned maybe stacking the letters (vertically) to make it feel more balanced but I think a slight decrease in size works well too. I adjusted the contrast and accent color based on great feedback by @alicetragedy. You like the same concepts. Thoughts?
You can try stacking it vertically with the B being the base, but I think horizontally is better because is the way you're supposed to read. Now the colors are great, but if we consider accessibility, the neon green into the pale and bright blue is hard to distinguish
The accessibility feature from Adobe Color could help you with the accent, but I believe the best colors would be red, pink, orange, and purple. color.adobe.com/create/color-c…
Nice, thanks. I think you're right and I was actually close to picking an orange.
Before I read the post, my brain read the "C" as a "D" (just flipped backwards) I love the look of the solid block letters but I wonder if adding a tiny notch on the flat edge of the C (similar to the notch of the B) would make it read stronger as a C
Compositionally I think the 4th layout is my favorite - it feels as if the letters are tumbling down, and is a very fluid/organic juxtaposition to the blocky solidness of the characters.
Hey thanks for the kind feedback. I totally agree with the C looking like a D, but I can't figure out to make the notch without it looking like pacman. 😂 Here's a really quick remix.
Oh no I see it! The original thought in my head was more akin to this - adding some kind of notch in the center of that straight edge.
From that selection there is a something interesting with the addition of the red dot. 4b? Have you explored other potential versions? What about the Co as counters in the B?
Counters is the term in typography for the ‘holes’ inside a letter. B, P, O, A…etc.
I really like 3B! I think what I find great is the “tracks” which make it feel more dynamic without being over the top. Can also imagine turning it into a cool animation! (Letters sliding along the track)
I’m also a fan of the little red dot in 2A but it does also remind me of slack notifications / the unread message indicator. There might be something there, as others have said before me ❤️ def looks like some lovely exploration!
Wow that's great feedback, thanks Laura. It's funny because I hate the red notification thingy in Slack so much that I changed the theme so it's a soft green. Great call...I'll need to play around with these colors.
5 feels like the start of something too. But the balance isn’t right. If it was rotated -90° so they were stacked?
Thanks for the feedback @caspianievers! I just started sketching today so no other versions atm. Stacking vertically could be interesting though. I’ll play with that. I like the red dot too but I’m worried it’s a little overpowering. Still exploring colors…
Thinking… generally speaking when there is a Co it’s usually for ‘company’ as in Smith & Co. But here it’s for COnsulting. Maybe BC would be clearer, a stylised B or a logo that’s is more about the service you offer.
Yeah I was afraid of that, which I why I'm only using the B right now. Bought the domain and picked the name at different times. 🫠
